When TREACLE was still just a twinkle in our eyes, the key words were always “home” and “comfort”. For most of us the natural place where we would nurture these values is the kitchen.

In the beginning, there was (and always will be!) cake...Then, the plate you ate your cake off, and the tea you drank with it became crucial ingredients to the experience – and TREACLE was born! In the shop we aim to share some of this passion for celebrating these under-rated values.

So alongside the cakes, we offer an eclectic mix of vintage china tea sets – some collectable (Midwinter, Broadhurst, Meakin) and some not so (yet! Remember you bought them here first) - as well as other baking-related treasures that have caught our eye – tea towels, aprons, oven gloves, and for the more ambitious amongst you, the world famous Kitchen Aid mixers and blenders.

The relevance of this to our modern lives is also embraced in the work of some brilliant young ceramicists TREACLE has found (John Julian, Andrew Tanner, Yo-Yo) whose clean lines and playful references sit equally well under an array of cakes.

Welcome to our TREACLE world
